A website owner would rather earn some money from their website than no money at all. You may also want to negotiate a free trial period to test if the traffic converts into sales.

Finally, I always use simple banners using underlined blue text on a white background. I have found that since these look like content they get a better response. Use a power word like secret and also offer a free ebook to download.
